We collect the minimum data needed to run and improve Genau. Here's exactly what that includes:

Information you provide

• Email address: when you join the waitlist
• Feature preferences: which features you select as most interesting
• Feedback text: any free-text feedback you choose to share

Information collected automatically

• Session ID: a random identifier generated in your browser (not tied to your identity)
• Device info: operating system, browser, screen size, viewport size, language, connection type, and whether you're on mobile
• Usage events: which screens you visit, which persona and topic you select, exercise answers, and timing data
• Visibility changes: when you switch away from or return to the tab

2. How We Use Your Data

• Email: to send you updates about Genau and notify you when we launch. We may send a confirmation email when you join the waitlist.
• Feature preferences & feedback: to decide what to build next
• Session & usage data: to understand how people use the demo, find bugs, and improve the experience

3. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use third-party advertising trackers
• We do not use cookies for tracking: session IDs are generated in-memory and do not persist across visits
• We do not collect your name, location, or payment information

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a database hosted on secure infrastructure. We use reasonable technical measures to protect it. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain waitlist entries and feedback for as long as needed to operate and develop Genau. Anonymous session data may be retained indefinitely for analytics. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see below).

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Delete: request that we delete your email and associated data
• Unsubscribe: stop receiving emails at any time

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Fonts: to load typefaces. Google may collect anonymized usage data per their privacy policy.
• Iconify: to load icons. Loaded from a CDN which may log requests.

8. Children

Genau is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
